Good Psychiatrists in Bangalore

Replies from various people:

Dr Srinivasan St John’s hospital
……………………………………………………….
I know of this lady. Tara Mathew - she can be contacted at her office in Koramangala at 25533590 or 25534385. I don't know if she is a psychologist or a psychiatrist but she's supposed to be very good. She has a clinic I think in Indiranagar or Koramangala.

Take her to Parivarthan ASAP. They have doctors/psychiatrist, specialist and of course counsellors too. They are the best gateway to get to others. NIMHANS is another option, but considering how huge and busy it is, it may be a challenge- but it is certainly a good 2nd options.

A very good friend of ours is a psychological counsellor, talk to her she will be able to suggest a good psychiatrist and help family members deal with the situation.
Her name is Jayshree and she stays in yelahanka. Her mobile no is 9844400736.

Dr C.R. Chandrashekhar is an awesome doc. He gives talks on mental well being, he's HOD of psychiatry at NIMHANS.He has converted his house to a free counseling center which is full of kind people. I guess the doc will recommend a counseling center closer to where this lady lives. The process is not official at all, it's kept very casual. Refusal to get counseled is very common, there is also something called proxy counseling, where a family member can get counseled and pass on the message or something like that

Vacations with a Purpose

Other than just having fun.

From Outlook Magazine, 17 January 2011, Hobos Ride a Hobby by Smita Mitra, Page 62. I just copied these down while waiting for 2 hours at a doctor's clinic - if there are no Web sites given for anything, it means it wasn't given in the magazine, you will need to google and find out contact details. If the site id is wrong, google for the name and get the correct one - I corrected a few, they were actually .in and not .com. Am sure most of these places will have a Facebook page, so search for more info there.
